It's actually smart comedy, with a tinge of literary metaphysical fiction.
It's a very witty, entertaining, and at times heart-wrenching movie starring Will Ferell(yes, Saturday Night Live, Blades of Glory). It all starts when a voice interrupts Harold Crick's very controlled toothbrushing. It turns out to be a narration of his life, and everything she(yes, she's a she)says is actually true.Things start to really really REALLY bother Harold when he hears about his imminent death, and he tries to find a way to stop it. In confronting his death does Harold learn what it is to live.
Really great and entertaining script, superb acting!although i still think Queen Latifah was sort of miscast.hehe.i love Maggie Gyllenhaal!hehe.and Dustin Hoffman(Meet the Fockers right?) and Emma Thompson(Love Actually!), and of course the expressions of Will Ferrell.hehe.I wasn't exactly thrilled with the ending, until Karen Eiffel explained why she made it end that way(which sort of was the point).Truly, a man like that(reminds me a bit of Brutus in Julius Caeser) should be kept alive.uh-oh spoiler, pero dati pa naman 'yung movie...2006 pa raw.haha.
Excellent.haha
My favorite line(among many favorite lines):
this springs off from,
Kay Eiffel: [narrating] Little did he know that this simple seemingly innocuous act would result in his imminent death. -------------------------------------------- Dr. Jules Hilbert: Little did he know. That means there's something he doesn't know, which means there's something you don't know, did you know that?
and then he decided to help Harold, all because he did know little, ay mali..little did he know.:p
you know what else was really cool, the effects with all the numbers and measurements!:D-makes engineering seem really cool, and auditing a really hard job.haha. oh and word of advice, never never take your wristwatch for granted.haha
that concludes my first review.haha
